2026 Impact Report
How do you measure trust?
Trust is hard to see and even harder to measure. But after ten years of bringing churches together for the good of Colorado Springs, we can see what it makes possible. Here are five ways we measure it, and how you can help us keep building it.
From our Executive Director
Dear friends,
“The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going.”John 3:8
This quote from Jesus describes how I’ve often thought about the invisible work of building trust in our city. You can see the effects of trust in many forms, but trust itself is difficult to feel, to see, or to touch. Still, the work of building trust among churches, and between Church & City, has become the single greatest point of impact COSILoveYou has created over the last 10 years.
One question has lingered with me for some time: How do you measure trust? What happens when leaders from Church & City get in rooms together? When a church wraps its arms around a nearby school? When thousands of people join together in service? Every year we make hundreds of connections like the ones you’re about to read, and each one plays a part in building trust.

Crisis networks launched and enhanced
Crisis Networks
Proximity means being close enough to hear what our city actually needs, then bringing the right churches and partners to the table.
The Story
A food network built on trust
COSILoveYou helped create a local network of churches, nonprofits and neighbors dedicated to addressing local food insecurity.
Today, that network consists of 50 partners aligning strategies to make sure no family in El Paso County is more than a few miles from a nearby option for free, healthy food.
“COSILoveYou is nurturing a connected, loving, and compassionate Colorado Springs. They don’t just talk about their beliefs; they live them out in practice, by bringing churches, schools, neighbors, and city partners together to meet real needs.”

When people come back year after year, and bring their friends, that’s trust you can count.
“COSILoveYou just knows exactly what we need… Your partnership means more than you can imagine as we know we aren’t in the important work alone.”
The Story
From Saturday volunteers to lunch for teachers
Fall 2026 was one principal’s third CityServe at their school. Within days, people from Saturday’s group were asking how to stay connected, and several started bringing lunches for teachers during conferences.
Several others have been coming back since the first CityServe Day 3 years ago.

School Connect
The Story
From unlikely partners to a party for teachers
School Connect COS brought together a church, a tattoo artist, a barn venue, a game vendor, a vacation rental owner, a sourdough baker, an apparel shop, a caterer, and other local businesses with one goal: celebrating the teachers at Mann Middle School.
Each partner brought something different, and together they threw a party none of them could have pulled off alone, helping keep tired teachers engaged in educating our community’s children.

What do the Church and the City say about us?
Seats at city tables: 3 local committees, 2 national boards, 5 citywide initiatives

A good name is earned slowly: one meeting, one project, one kept promise at a time.
“When there is a need in our city that requires collaboration with the faith community, COSILoveYou is the first call the Mayor’s Office makes. They have earned trust by consistently helping churches move from good intentions to being intentional when it comes to solving challenges and helping our city flourish.”

The Story
From CityServe Day to a foster care nonprofit
Several years ago, Andrew Crust and his family signed up to serve at a local foster care agency on CityServe Day. Struck by the needs of foster families and kids, they kept volunteering until they decided to begin the process of fostering kids themselves.
Ten kids later, they felt called to start their own organization that supplies diapers, clothes, food, and supplies to families when they get “that call in the night” asking if they have space for a child in need.
Today the Crusts host volunteers for their own CityServe Days. In 2026, nearly 25 volunteers packed hundreds of pounds of clothes and donations that were distributed by the truckload to agencies and families across El Paso County. It’s this kind of multiplying power that COSILoveYou catalyzes through CityServe Day every year.

So, how do you measure trust?
When leaders sit across tables, gather in rooms, and learn to trust one another, we may not solve every issue in our city, but we are creating the network of relationships that make real, sustainable solutions possible. More so, we are telling our city that the love of Jesus makes itself real in the ways the local Church shows up to serve.
So while measuring trust may still be an elusive prospect, we can see its effects taking shape all around us. I hope you’ll join us in the work.
