Over the past 5 years, leaders across the Pikes Peak region, including Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers, have asked the faith community to help our city by addressing two major challenges: family homelessness and at-risk youth. As we have considered the best ways to direct efforts toward those in need, we realized that local schools are the most consistent places at which these individuals and families gather and seek help. In the fall of 2019, we are launching our COSILoveSchools initiative, bringing churches, businesses, and other local organizations in partnership around schools to help them provide resources and support to struggling families, teachers, and neighborhoods.
What we have noticed is this: as schools go, communities go. And our intent is to surround schools with every resource they need to thrive, so that our neighborhoods and communities around the Pikes Peak region can thrive as well.
Will you join us?
For the 2019-2020 school year, we are engaged in building partnerships at several local schools. If you’re interested in being a part of one of these schools’ Community Teams please fill out our interest form.
